The Member representing Eti-Osa Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbolahan Olusegun Yishawu, has congratulated the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on the occasion of her 66th birthday.
In a goodwill message, Yishawu described the First Lady as a compassionate and responsive leader whose commitment to improving the welfare of families, women, children, youths and vulnerable Nigerians has contributed to ongoing humanitarian efforts across the country.
The lawmaker particularly commended Senator Oluremi Tinubu for using the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) to support interventions in areas such as education, healthcare, agriculture, food security, economic empowerment and social investment.
According to Yishawu, the impact of the initiative is reflected in various programmes aimed at providing relief and creating opportunities for vulnerable Nigerians and communities.
He highlighted several RHI interventions, including food outreach programmes, support for women and young people, agricultural empowerment, healthcare initiatives and educational assistance. He also cited the empowerment of 2,500 women in the South-East, an agricultural mechanisation programme targeting 5,000 women and youths, and financial support of N819 million for 1,638 widows of fallen military and police personnel.
Yishawu also praised the First Lady’s contributions to education, including the recent commissioning of a renovated Alternative High School for Girls in Agboju, Lagos, describing the project as an important investment in the future of the Nigerian girl-child.
The lawmaker said Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s humanitarian engagements demonstrate the importance of leadership that remains connected to the needs and aspirations of ordinary Nigerians.
He described her as “a listening mother and a mother of the nation who understands the yearnings of Nigerians and continues to show concern for the welfare and dignity of families across the country.”
Yishawu further commended the First Lady for her support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and her role in supporting the administration’s development agenda.
He said, “Her support for Mr. President, her compassion for the vulnerable and her dedication to initiatives that empower women, educate children, support families and create opportunities for young Nigerians are worthy of recognition.”
The Lagos lawmaker added that Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s years of public service and humanitarian engagement have positioned her as an important voice in efforts to strengthen social welfare and expand opportunities for Nigerians.
He prayed for the First Lady’s continued good health, wisdom and strength, as well as many more years of impactful service to the nation.
