The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has disbursed N148.34 million to 301 students of the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery under the Federal Government’s student loan scheme.
The intervention is aimed at easing financial pressure on the beneficiaries and ensuring that lack of funds does not prevent them from pursuing or completing their education.
NELFUND said the latest disbursement forms part of its efforts to expand access to education financing across tertiary institutions and strengthen implementation of the Federal Government’s student loan programme.
The beneficiaries are expected to use the funds to meet approved educational expenses and other relevant costs associated with their studies.
The Fund urged eligible students in tertiary institutions to take advantage of the student loan scheme, saying the initiative is designed to make higher education more accessible and inclusive.
The latest intervention also highlights the Federal Government’s efforts to reduce financial barriers to education, support students and strengthen human capital development.
