Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 4.43 per cent year-on-year in real terms in the second quarter of 2026, up from 4.23 per cent recorded in the same period of 2025.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said the latest figure represents a 0.20 percentage-point increase compared with the corresponding quarter of last year.

The growth reflects a modest strengthening in overall economic activity during the period.

According to the NBS, the agricultural sector recorded stronger growth, while the services sector also expanded.

However, growth in the industrial sector slowed significantly compared with the second quarter of 2025.
