The Ogun State Police Command says it arrested 11 suspects and recovered two suspected stolen vehicles, three firearms and 25 ATM cards during multiple operations across the state between September 16 and 26, 2026.
The command also said it impounded eight vehicles for allegedly obstructing traffic, while recovering mobile phones and assorted electrical materials during the operations.
The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, said the successes were recorded through targeted operations, proactive policing and intelligence-led enforcement.
At Owode Egba, detectives recovered a stolen commercial TVS motorcycle at Mokoloki Village on September 17, following a complaint lodged the previous day.
Two suspects, Rasheed Abdul and Saula Meshinoye, were arrested in connection with the alleged theft, while an accomplice identified as Saheed remains at large.
In Olorunda, two suspects, Mutiu Gafar, 19, and Fatai Obasanmi, 37, were arrested on September 19 after they were allegedly intercepted conveying stolen electrical materials on a motorcycle along Ayetoro Road.
Police said the recovered items included bundles of electrical wiring, a change-over electrical box and a circuit breaker box. Another suspect, Tosin, reportedly escaped.
Similarly, SWAT operatives from Base 7, Abule-Iroko, arrested three suspects over alleged vehicle theft on September 21.
The suspects — Olamide Ayandele, 30; Tope Samuel, 40; and Ayo Peter Ojo, 30 — were intercepted around Dalemo, Ota, while allegedly in possession of an unregistered tricycle and an unregistered TVS motorcycle.
Preliminary investigations reportedly linked the suspects to alleged vehicle theft around the Ijoko axis.
In another operation, Igbesa Division arrested Ameachine Anthony, 45, over an alleged ₦2.5 million fraud and recovered 25 ATM cards and multiple mobile phones.
Police said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect allegedly used newly acquired SIM cards and associates to facilitate bank accounts before collecting ATM cards for fraudulent transactions.
The suspect and exhibits have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, for further investigation.
Meanwhile, SWAT operatives arrested Peter Olanrewaju, 34, on September 22 following information about an alleged cult-related gathering.
Further investigation led to the arrest of Adebayo Sodiq, 36, and the recovery of one pump-action rifle and two locally made pistols.
The command said investigations were ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the possession of the firearms and identify other persons who may be connected with the case.
Police said efforts were also ongoing to apprehend suspects who fled from the various incidents.
The command said the operations formed part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen security and combat criminal activities across Ogun State.
