The Oyo State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the abduction of a 38-year-old man, Nathaniel Peter, at Layeri Village, Ikoyi-Ile, in the state.
The command said the incident was reported on September 24, 2026, at about 5:50 p.m., by a resident who told the police that armed men had invaded a family compound in the area earlier that day.
According to the police, the attackers stormed the compound at about 4:20 a.m. and forcibly abducted Peter from his room.
The assailants reportedly escaped through the National Reserve Forest with the victim’s mobile phone and a Hajue motorcycle.
The police said two suspects, identified as Muhammadu Abubakar and 17-year-old Jayun Danali, have been arrested and are assisting with the investigation.
The command added that their arrests had provided useful leads towards identifying and apprehending other members of the gang.

Meanwhile, the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, said they have intensified operations to rescue the victim and arrest the fleeing suspects.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, urged residents of affected communities to remain vigilant and provide credible information to security agencies.
