“INEC To Display 2027 Governorship, Assembly Candidates’ Details On Saturday”

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will on Saturday, August 29, 2026, display the personal particulars of candidates nominated by political parties for the 2027 governorship and State House of Assembly elections.

The exercise is part of the commission’s preparations for the 2027 general elections and will enable members of the public to inspect the candidates’ particulars and raise objections where necessary.

The display will cover details submitted by political parties to the commission as part of the nomination process.

INEC has repeatedly urged political parties and candidates to comply with the electoral timetable and relevant provisions of the law as preparations for the elections intensify.

The publication is expected to provide greater transparency in the nomination process and give eligible Nigerians an opportunity to scrutinise the credentials and other particulars of candidates ahead of the elections.
