The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Joint Campus Council, Kogi State, has rejected additional portal charges recently introduced for students of Kogi State Polytechnic.

The students’ body, led by its Chairman, Abdurazak Adams said the new charges would place an additional financial burden on students who are already paying an ICT fee.

While acknowledging the importance of digital platforms in education, NANS JCC called on the Polytechnic management to immediately withdraw the portal charges.

The association also urged students not to pay the newly introduced fee pending the resolution of the matter, while advising them to remain calm and law-abiding.

NANS JCC has given the Polytechnic management a five-day ultimatum to reverse the decision, warning that failure to resolve the issue could lead its executives to relocate to the institution’s management premises for further engagement.

The association said it remains committed to dialogue and the protection of students’ welfare, urging the Polytechnic management to reconsider the charges and remove the additional fee.
